We would like to introduce our newest team member, Physician Assistant Nicolle Ioakem! Nicolle will be offering Annual/Well Woman exams, contraception visits, and will also help us expand our ability to serve you with same-day visits for those problems that come up at the last minute (you know, those UTIs and yeast infections that come out of nowhere!) She is a kind, compassionate provider, and we are confident our patients will feel well cared for at their visits.
Nicolle was born in Maui, HI but was raised in the desert of Scottsdale, AZ. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Nicolle worked as a traveling healthcare technician setting up medical clinics that provided vaccinations and comprehensive blood panel testing across the state of AZ to gain medical experience before applying to Physician Assistant school. She continued her post graduate education at the University of St. Francis Physician Assistant Program in Albuquerque, NM and graduated with her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She maintains active board certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
From there, she moved back to Tucson, AZ and spent the last 6 years working in urgent and primary care where her passion for women’s health began. Her favorite aspect of healthcare is developing meaningful relationships with her patients while helping them achieve a better quality of life. In the Summer of 2023, her partner’s job brought them to Portland, OR where they have made a new home. She is excited to be a part of the Lake Oswego GYN family and looks forward to making a positive impact in her patient’s lives.
During her free time, she spends it outside as much as she can with her very active, 3 year old German Shepherd dog, Malu. Nicolle likes to go camping on the coast with her partner and their dog on the weekends. She loves Blue Star donuts and good coffee. Nicolle also competes annually in a multi-day, long distance, women’s only off-road driving competition with her sister in their Ford Bronco.
